3-19-2013 | Dream Fragment | A Vikings Inspired Dream Of A Library Being Attacked

I remember part of one dream from last night that involved the History Channel TV show Vikings.

I do not think that I was in the dream oddly, and I remember that Ragnar and his crew were sailing by boat to do/make another raid to the West.

A second boat was also sailing with them, maybe his wife and/or some less experienced warriors were on this boat (I am guessing that his wife was on his boat & not this one), and both boats had not left their borders yet I think; but they were sailing out toward the sea.

The second boat landed at a what I think was a library, they probably thought or hoped that it was a monastery/church, and so they raided it.

I remember that Ragnar and his boat passed by smiling/laughing at the second boat’s crew raiding what seemed to be a library that was probably still in their country, I guess that the second boat’s crew thought that they were in the West or they just were ready to raid something, and Ragnar & his crew kept sailing.

Last night I remember part of a dream that was inspired by the new History Channel TV show Vikings, which I watched the first two episodes of last night on the History Channel’s official website for Vikings, and I remember that the dream started without me being in it during a foggy or gray day where the main character & his wife were walking happily back to their home by the water when they saw their son fighting a bandit/man attacking their home; and they rushed to help him after stopping/smiling/taking a moment to be proud/encouraged/et cetera that their son managed to hold off a bandit by himself long enough for them to return.

They easily defeated the bandit but I am not sure if they killed him or not and I think that they learned of a rumor of treasure from the bandit, they congratulated their son for his bravery/accomplishment, and then later that night the husband & wife talked about the rumor of treasure as they were in their kitchen preparing/getting food; and I remember the wife encouraging her husband to search for the treasure, and she told a story that she read about in reference to certain beliefs/ideas that were starting to form in their society after a certain war (the time period in this part might have briefly changed from the Viking time period to a time period near or after World War I (WWI) in Russia/The Soviet Union or I was just thinking of this time period because it reminded me of this time period).

The ideas seemed to be some of the more positive early elements of what would probably one day be known as Socialism and/or Communism but would one day be changed/corrupted into Soviet style/et cetera style semi-Socialism/Communism combined with Totalitarianism/et cetera  , the woman threw some food crumbs near a kitchen top area & the husband was shocked & asked her why she did that, and then mice came out to eat/share the food; and she told her story using that as an example of some of the new beliefs/ideas that she read about in a book about that were starting to emerge in the lower class in their society.

The husband started to be inspired by her story but was worried about how the local government would react (the dream probably seemed to be back in the Viking time period again), he decided that he would go looking for the treasure, and then he met with his brother & another man to ask them to join him in the search for the treasure; and they agreed and then they went looking for they treasure.

They found the/some treasure but I can not remember the parts of dream when this happened, they went to a bar/restaurant to an empty room to divide the treasure among themselves & to talk about what to do next, and oddly they hid their treasure in modern-day Walmart-like plastic bags; and the husband told the brother & the other man that they would leave the bar/restaurant at the same time but they would go in separate ways with their treasure to make it harder for anyone to follow them & that they would keep their treasure a secret among a few people for now.

2-20-2013 | Dream Fragments | A Tom Hanks Film About A Soldier, And Superman Temporarily Loses His Powers

I barely remember part of two dreams with the first dream starting like a film where the actor Tom Hanks was possibly narrating and/or was the main character, it was during the day, and the dream might have started in the air over water headed down toward a tiny island with one church-like building; and this dream took place during a war.

Tom Hanks was a soldier and was telling the story about one soldier who did something heroic during a war when he was alone holding off the enemy by himself, and his actions helped win the war or something like that; and Mr. Hanks was inspired by this soldier’s story and/or was re-creating this soldier’s story.

I think Mr. Hanks was the lone survivor of his unit and was on an important mission, and was being chased by the enemy; and so he fled to this tiny island and somehow I was in the dream at this point as a soldier as well.

We went inside the only building on the tiny island that looked a bit church-like and we found another soldier, Mr. Hanks told us about the story of the soldier who inspired him & about the situation/current war/his survival strategy, and he wanted us to do like that soldier had done and hold the island from the enemy as long as we could while he left the island to continue his mission; and so we were supposed to hold of the enemy/sacrifice ourselves long enough for him to complete his mission.

In the building were paintings of a man who I think was the soldier in Mr. Hanks story, and some of the paintings probably told his story in the form of images; I am not sure if I became Mr. Hanks at this point or if he left to continue his mission, either way it was just one soldier & I left alone at the building now, waiting for the enemy to attack.

2-18-2013 | Dream Fragment | A Military Parade After A War

I barely remember part of the end of one dream where I think that I was a soldier who had fought in a short war, the war was probably an offensive/defensive war where we were either defending our country from a direct attack or we were sent to help an ally country defend against an attack, and at this point in the dream some of my fellow soldiers & I were in a military parade during the day.

We were on a very tall parade float going down a long highway that looked like the highway in D that passes the DQ on Eastside, but this version was the L-like version that is wider & probably in the fictional version of L; and people were on the sides of the road cheering.

My fellow soldiers who I fought with and I were not so happy about being paraded around, we did not consider ourselves heroes & were not proud of having fought in a war, we did not feel that we had done much if anything wrong but we just did not think that war was fun & games and we felt that our country usually fought unnecessary wars; but we were glad that we fought a short war that was not completely unnecessary like most wars.

We tried to be more positive and to somewhat enjoy the parade or at least survive it, so I remember trying to help boost everyone’s morale/mood; and we tried to smile & wave at people.

At some point we noticed a former fellow soldier of ours who we knew in the crowd yelling/screaming negative things at us about the war/military/country/politicians/us/et cetera, and we tried to talk to him but he pulled the smallest & weakest soldier in our unit off of the float & started attacking him; and so I got off the float to stop him.

Last night I had a variety of dreams, unfortunately I did not try to remember any of them and so now I can not remember most of them, but maybe I will slowly remember some of them as I type this.

One of the dreams involved me walking during the day in an area that looked like the D Junior High School, I came across a group of men and women, and there were different areas with people from different cultures/countries like small villages/countries or something; and one area had a group of people who might have been mostly from India (this group seemed to follow Islam, not Hinduism, there was a group who followed Hinduism but they were separate from this group) & a few countries who mostly followed the religion of Islam.

The group of men & women who I came across first were from another culture/country than theirs, but I am not sure which cultures/countries the group of people were from who I was with but it was probably a Western based culture that was more secular, and we crossed the mostly Islamic based culture area to explore; but the women in our group got confronted by a group of men wearing traditional clothing from their culture with some of them wearing turbans & other types of headware who were angry with the women in our group for various reasons that they said broke their religious/cultural laws/rules.

We apologized for any possible offenses and we tried to keep the peace, but the group of men were very angry and threatening us; and they seemed to want to arrest the women to punish them or kill them or something, and so we continued to try to peacefully resolve the situation but more angry men joined their group & the situation got dangerous.

They started getting weapons (AK-47s, pistols, mêlée weapons) and they kept trying to surround us to prevent us from escaping to some of the other culture/country areas, it bothered me that I/we could not peacefully deal with the situation, because I/we tried very hard; and we even offered to try to make up for any possible offenses, but their penalties were way too harsh in our opinions and they would not compromise with us.
